Activities

Learning Spanish is a process which should not only take place in class. This is the reason why we also offer a range of cultural and leisure activities with the aim of getting to know the city of Barcelona and its surroundings, while at the same time practising the Spanish language.

Every Wednesday we give a class about the Spanish culture in which topics such as the history of Spain, customs and how to celebrate Spain’s most important bank holidays are being explained. During the week, we offer guided visits to Barcelona’s most beautiful neighbourhoods: Barrio Gótico, Sagrada Familia, Parque Güell; visits to museums: Miró Foundation, Picasso Museum… Besides, we arrange day excursions to places outside of Barcelona, for instance the Dalí museum in Figueres, the Montserrat Mountain, the beaches of Costa Brava coast, skiing in Andorra, excursions at the weekends to Madrid, Valencia, Ibiza…

With our Social Club Pylmon, you can enjoy a lot of activities with our students, accompanied by a teacher: modernist excursion by night, chocolate with “churros”, ice-skating, eating tapas, cinema night, beach volleyball…

Throughout the year, our school celebrates Spain’s most important bank holidays with students and teachers in order to show them our traditions:

Easter is being celebrated with the typical “Mona”, its figures made of chocolate and champagne.

On Sant Joan, we also drink a toast and eat “coca” (a typical cake in Catalonia).

Halloween is celebrated with chestnuts, sweet potatoes and muscatel (sweet vine).

To celebrate Christmas, we all have a meal together, eat “turrones” (typical Spanish sweets) and take a toast with champagne; afterwards we play the game of Secret Santa.

Aside from that, you can also get a student card for free which permits you to get a discount in museums, cinemas…
